Sapo, Cássio and Pablo win in the South American 2007 Championships.

Held in Florianopolis, Brazil, at 10 and 11 of November, the south American Championships was a sucess. Organized by the CBJJ ( Brazilian Federation), the event witnessed a show of our athletes, dominating the purple belt division in big fashion. Rafael Sapo got the gold in the Heavy weight, Cássio got the gold in the Super Heavy and Pablo in the Super Feather.

Mamute steals the show at the MTL-MMA Brazilian League.

Confirming his name as one of the best MMA heavy weight fighters of Brazil in 2007, our very own Joaquim Mamute showed why he is among the best heavy weights in Brazil, defeating Rodrigo MInotauro's protegee Junior Cigano ( who was undefeated and with a UFC contract signed) via armbar in the first minute of the fight. That was the second fight between the two and Cigano won the first one via TKO. Now it was payback time.....
The Wild Fire team won the anual competition and GBBH/ Draculino TEAM, had 100% of victories in the event, with the wins of Rafael Sapo and Mamute in the first event and then Mamute's victory in the finals.
Congrats to our fighters and to Coaches Vinicius Draculino and Murilo Bustamante to make Wild Fire win the First anual title in the Brazilian MMA league.

PROFESSOR DRACULINO GRADUATES PAUL "JUDO" THOMAS TO THE BLACK BELT.

21of october, 2007. For sure, a date that a lot of people, specially the ones from a great martial art school in Katy, Texas, will never forget. It was in there, in Katy Jiu-Jitsu and MMA school, where Professor Draculino graduated to the Black Belt one of his first american students: Paul Thomas, or "Judo Paul".
Paul began to train BJJ in 1996, when he came to Brazil for a YMCA trip. Since then, he devoted himself a lot, teaching and competing in Judo, BJJ, Sambo and Grappling. Paul is also a school teacher and everyone who knows him, like him a lot.
Soon, we will post pictures of the ceremony and Paul will figure on the Hall of Draculino's black belts on that website.
Draculino wanted to thank De Anna ( Paul's wife), Brandon "wolverine" ( for being a true right hand to lots of people in Texas), Rick Mango ( one of the true real friends to support BJJ and MMA in the USA) and all at the West side and Katy JJ club.

Thiago and Facção rock at FBC Montes Claros Fight.

Held in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, at october 19, the FBC was a big sucess. More than 2000 people saw the great show that the fighters from Gracie Barra BH-Draculino team put. Our very own Thiago, son of the legendary Kickboxer ELY, and a blue belt from the GBBH school, knocked his opponent out in the second round, via soccer kick. Then, Facção made the main event, winnning at the second round via TKO due tue strikes from the mount position. The opponents were from Brazilian powerhouse Black House ( Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort, Lyoto Machida, Hugo Duarte and more) and the call for the event was: " Gracie Barra x Black House". Gracie Barra 2X0!!!!!!!

Professor Vinicius Draculino teaches and promotes all over the world.

The GBBH leader, Professor Vinicius Draculino, travelled to Kuwait to teach at the Kuwait GB academy a 5 day seminar.
Draculino was impressed with the technical level of the Kuwait guys and promoted the great instructor AHMED AL HOULI to the grade of Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-JItsu.: - "Ahmed is a great fighter, instructor and person. His work in Kuwait is great and the brown belt is more than well deserved for him. Soon, the middle east will have a great Black belt spreading the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Gracie Barra style". Said Professor Draculino.
From Kuwait, Draculino went to Spain, to teach a Seminar in MALAGA, where Marcelo Uirapuru, with the great support of Edson Sururu, chief instructor of the GB Marbella school, will begin a school. The Seminar was great and Professor Draculino could check, again , the great work that Edson Jorge Sururu is doing in Spain. More info. please acess www.gbmarbella.com

MUNDIALS 2007: Rômulo Barral rocks at the California´s first mundials of BJJ.

With an incredible performance, our very own, Rômulo Barral, Rominho, conquered the gold medal on the Meduim Heavy weight of the Black Belt and the silver Medal in the Absolute. Rominho beat excelent fighters in his way, including Saulo Ribeiro, Alexandre Ribeiro, Luiz Big MAc, Jerry and Alex Monsalve showing that the GBBH home work is being done with lots of care!
Besides Rominho, our very own Samuel Braga got the silver on the Super Feather black belt, putting up a great prefromance, Breno Estopa Maia got the silver also in the Blue Medium Heavy, Augusto Tio Chico got the bronze on the absolute brown belt.
Congratulations also to all the other warriors from all over the world who represented the team at the biggest world championships up to date , to the IBJJF for putting up, again, a great event and to the Gracie Barra family for the first place overall in the schools trophy.
